2009 AB 1639, (Nava) Facilitated Mortgage Workout Program.
Establishes a facilitated Mortgage Workout Program (MWP) for borrowers facing foreclosure.
2009 AB 1836, (Furutani) Personal Income Tax Rates.
Temporarily establishes 10% and 11% personal income tax (PIT) brackets for high-income taxpayers and increases the alternative minimum tax (AMT) rate to 8.5%.

Change is in the wind. On whichever side of the aisle you may find yourself, the mandate to improve things is all but impossible to ignore.

Know anyone in California that thinks our healthcare system is working as it should? Even if they did think it was perfect, what are the chances they'd risk the wrath of the rest of us by claiming it was working just fine?

Who do you know that thinks our schools are doing great right about now? Certainly not anybody who has a child, grandchild, or even a friend with a kid enrolled in one of our embattled schools today.

Anybody willing to make a case that our environmental laws are everything they should be? Or that Californian companies have been experiencing business as anything close to "usual" for the past few years?

Finally California's economy has been going these past few years? Everything's smooth sailing so let's just "stay the course?" If there's anyone among us that might still think so, you can bet they aren't up for re-election anytime soon.
